Changes resulting from switch from 16 week session to 10 week session

Topics where separate coverage lost

  • normal curve (can be covered in CT and grading topics)
  • percentiles (can be covered in grading topic)
  • assessment in affective domain (small coverage in grading topic)
  • institutional & program assessment (small coverage of program assessment in motor domain topic)

Change in activities

  • No team match (was an in-person activity)
  • No group data collection (was an in-person activity)
  • To build the community/engagement that normally emerges as a result of collaboration in labs, will institute group-based work via discussion board on questions for reflection’ (QFRs). This will be either a graded component of course or bonus points will be associated with this activity.

Change in assessment plan

  • dropped SPSS exam (modify quizzes to cover analytical work more)
  • reduced number of quizzes (and no bonus quiz)

Particularly heavy workload expected associated with:

  • modifications to every quiz
  • modifications to both exams
  • modifications to all labs, exam preparation materials, and practice quizzes
  • substantial changes needed to the course reader/text
  • implementing these changes in the LMS
